Alethea Tse-Roche – Marlborough * Auckland Artist

Alethea Tse-Roche, now living in Marlborough, is an award winning artist emigrated from Hong Kong in 1985.

Her teachers at school encouraged her love of painting, which began at a young age.

She went on to receive group lessons from professional artists in Hong Kong, Christchurch and Auckland.

Alethea won awards for her water-colour and oil paintings at the Royal Easter Show. She last won People’s Choice for one of her paintings at the 2011 “Art at the Estuary” Hibiscus Coast Hospice fundraising exhibition.

Having worked in the airline & travel industry for many years she has had the privilege of extensive overseas travel, capturing many images of the vibrancy of nature, which she has a passion to share with others, through the medium of water-colour , acrylic and oil.

Her style is vibrant and cheerful, combining the lustre of oil with the technique of water-colour.

Apart from painting, Alethea tutors children’s art programmes during School holidays and assists her partner in running ‘Learn To Paint In One Day’ adult art class.

You can find her work at Central Art gallery Queenstown and Tait Gallery Hanmer Springs or her home studio in Blenheim.
